TRACK COMMENTS BY JERRY BOUTHIER
- MOON BOOTS "Running From (feat. violetness)": “Not much is known of Moon Boots, but since the success of his Scritti Politti-sampling ‘Aretha’ he’s become a producer to watch. The sultry ‘Running From’ - a carefree ode to happiness? - perfectly kicks off this breezy mix.”
- CITIZENS! "Reptile (GOLDROOM remix)": “Kitsuné’s latest protégés Citizens! are another striking discovery. Smart and funny these Londoners make ambitious indie music that’s ready to take on the world.”
- PHARAO BLACK MAGIC "Hermes (feat. GHOSTAPE)": “Originally hailing from Basel, Switzerland, and now set up in Berlin, this promising duo combines indie and Balearic in one enchanted spell. Songs you can dance to and at the same time feel for or get touched by.”
- JUPITER "One O Six (A.N.D.Y. remix)": “It’s already been a few singles since Jupiter has entered our lives and what a nice difference it’s made. Amélie’s mousey vocals are simply too cute to ignore and A.N.D.Y. aka ex-Mustang Andy Faisca does wonders with their new single and turns it into an unstoppable anthem.”
- GIGAMESH "Your Body (JBAG remix)": “Here DiscoTech’s Gigamesh gets reinterpreted by JBAG my studio project with Andrea Gorgerino. ‘Your Body’ is a big, effective house tune which we slowed down and tried to funk up a notch.”
- MOONLIGHT MATTERS (feat. GUSTAPH) "Come For Me (JERRY’s dub)": “Sebastiaan Vandevoorde aka Moonlight Matters is another inspired Belgian luminary who has left his mark on quality pop music. After tons of remixes, he finally drops his long- awaited debut single ‘Come For Me’ – unlike anything else at the moment.”
- LOGO "Jacob": “Logo are the French Chemical Brothers... or something like that. Hugues and Thomas infuse erudite – almost rock – energy into electronic music and secretly dream of turning into rave meisters.”
- HOUSSE DE RACKET "Chateau (JBAG remix)": “I like to think that Housse de Racket will be the next French band to follow in the footsteps of Phoenix. They share with them modesty, professionalism... and a definite talent for composition. One of my fave JBAG remixes... never fails to move me.”
- METRONOMY "Everything Goes My Way (PSYCHEMAGIK remix)": “Joseph Mount usually provides the vocals in Metronomy, it’s his band after all, but this time it’s Roxanne Clifford who does the honours. London’ Psychemagik gives it a deep girly twist.”
- RÜFÜS "Talk To Me": “New Sydney band RÜFÜS has got Kitsuné written all over it. Poppy, ravey, rocky, synthy... great song. Can’t wait to hear more.”
- CHARLOTTE GAINSBOURG "Anna (MOONLIGHT MATTERS remix)": “Two Moonlight Matters productions in the same mix?! Well his single is a club screamer and this remix is more on a nostalgic pop tip. He’s one of the few that can join the dots between the two, so why not?”
- RAC "Hollywood feat. Penguin Prison (FELIX DA HOUSECAT remix)": “We’ve been following RAC for quite a while. Another typical Kitsuné producer, he puts keyboard lines all over indie songs and it works. One of our heroes Felix Da Housecat gets on the mix for a rockin’ rerub.”
- ADAMSKI "I Like It (ATTAR! remix)": “Electro’s original master Adamski is back on the dancefloors! He never really went away but he sure has killer tunes right now. ATTAR! delivers the soon-to-be big anthem-like remix.”
- PLASTIC PLATES "Toys": “Plastic Plates is Felix Bloxsom, an Aussie based in Los Angeles. How would we describe the unstoppable ‘Toys’? Rave funk? We love it.”
- THE RAPTURE "Sail Away (CUT COPY remix)": “An alliance made in heaven. Luke Jenner’s plaintive voice over Cut Copy’s beats and piano breakdown, yum!”
- HEY TODAY! "83": “Gildas likes this lots. It’s slowed down techno, just like new-beat. Unquestionably the way forward for most djs. Where else is there left to go when the charts have got crazy banging?”
- LIKE WOAH! "Looking At You (Nocturnal edition)": “A sweet eurodisco track from Down Under – of all places!”
- FRIENDLY FIRES "Hurting (TENSNAKE remix)": “One of the best British bands around gets finely remixed by the mighty Tensnake. Indie-dance heaven.”
- REFLEX "Wavering (JBAG remix)": “The debut of a great duo from the south of France remixed by JBAG. One of the most playlisted remixes Andrea and I have done.”
- M83 "Midnight City (TRENTEMØLLER remix)": “We’ve loved M83 for years but this one’s really nailed it for them. And with Trentemøller on board, it was perfect to end the mix in psychedelic mode.”
