New York based producers Micah Frank and Chet Doxas have worked together since 2018 when they converged on their debut ambient album All the Roads where upon its release became the #1 top-selling Bandcamp album for two weeks straight. Throughout 2019 the duo performed several ambient, tape and woodwind-infused live shows on the east coast.
Following up on their success with All the Roads - in 2021 - Frank and Doxas received significant production funds from the Canada Council for the Arts to produce a new album of music composed by Hildegard von Bingen. They are currently seeking a label partner to help with the final production, marketing and publication of this material.
Concurrent with their production schedule, they also host and performs at the Variations for Dusk series in Brooklyn, focusing on the city’s most intrepid experimentalists and live performers.
Micah Frank is an award-winning electronic sound artist that uses algorithmic, generative and stochastic methods to build sound sculptures. Much of his work incorporates field recordings, hand-built software and real-time synthesis techniques. He is a 2019 NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellow in music and sound from The New York Foundation for the Arts.
Chet Doxas is a multiple Juno nominee and has appeared on over one hundred recordings. He has released eight albums as a leader and co-leader. He has worked with a wide range ofartists including, Carla Bley, John Abercrombie, Rufus Wainwright, Michael Formanek, Dave Douglas, and is featured on the Academy and Grammy award nominated soundtrack , The Triplets of Belleville. When he is not touring he can be found in his Brooklyn recording studio working on his next projects or producing for other artists.
